Climbing Gear – EXTENDO
Extendo is a popular method of extending the master point of an anchor over the lip of the cliff. It’s especially useful for traditional climbing areas such as Joshua Tree.
Extendo is generally made out of a 40-60 feet of static 11mm rope.
In this video I demonstrate a 3-piece traditional anchor equalized with a 20 foot 7mm cordelette which is then extended using an extendo. A method to rappel over a lip is also shown which is useful if you need to setup directional protection for your top-rope.
